Living in Dubai Marina
More than 200 residential towers built around a 3 km man-made canal, right next to JBR beach. Popular for the marina walk, the beach and easy Metro and tram links.

History
Emaar started Dubai Marina in 2003 on an open stretch of coast between Jebel Ali and Al Sufouh. The first phase was six towers on the water’s edge: Al Mass, Fairooz, Murjan, Mesk, Anbar and Al Yass.
The Walk at JBR and Dubai Marina Mall both opened in 2008, the Metro arrived in 2010 and the Dubai Tram followed in 2014. Today more than 200 residential towers line the canal, including landmarks such as Cayan Tower, Princess Tower and Marina Gate.
What it’s like to live here
Life here revolves around the water. The Marina Walk runs right round the canal, lined with cafes and restaurants, and JBR beach is a short walk away. It is lively in the evenings and at weekends, and most flats look over the water, the sea or the skyline.
Who it suits
Young professionals, couples and people who want to walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Investors like it for strong rental demand from both long-term tenants and holiday lets.
Getting around
Two Metro Red Line stations serve the area: Sobha Realty and DMCC. The Dubai Tram has 11 stops from JBR to Al Sufouh, and Sheikh Zayed Road is about 6 minutes away. Dubai International Airport is roughly 25 minutes by car, and Media City or DIFC 15 to 20 minutes.
Schools, healthcare and shopping
Schools within about 15 minutes include Horizon International School, Dubai British School and King’s School. Willow Nursery and Raffles Nursery are in the Marina.
Clinics include Medcare Medical Centre, Emirates Hospitals Clinic and King’s Marina Medical Centre, with Al Zahra and Saudi German hospitals in Al Barsha. Dubai Marina Mall has a Waitrose, and there are Spinneys, West Zone and Al Maya supermarkets across the area.
