Living in Jumeirah Village Circle
Known as JVC, a family-friendly community of mid-rise apartments, townhouses and villas set around more than 30 parks. One of Dubai’s best-value places to rent.

History
Nakheel launched Jumeirah Village Circle in 2005, alongside its sister community Jumeirah Village Triangle. Work slowed during the 2008 to 2009 downturn, but around 300 villas and 400 townhouses were finished by 2013.
Since then, independent developers have built more than 230 apartment buildings on plots across the community. JVC is laid out in 10 districts, numbered 10 to 19, and Circle Mall now anchors the centre.
What it’s like to live here
A green, suburban feel, with parks in every district and plenty of new buildings. It is quieter than the city areas but has its own shops, cafes and supermarkets, and most homes come with parking.
Who it suits
Young families, couples and people who want more space for their money. Investors like the steady rental demand and good yields on studios and one-bedroom flats.
Getting around
JVC sits between Al Khail Road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. There is no Metro station in JVC; bus J01 runs to Mall of the Emirates and Al Furjan Metro station is nearby. Dubai Marina, Internet City and Media City are about 20 minutes away, Downtown 22 and Dubai International Airport about 25.
Schools, healthcare and shopping
Schools include JSS International School, Sunmarke School and Nord Anglia International School, with nurseries such as Kids World and Chubby Cheeks.
Karama Medical Centre is on Kaheel Boulevard, and Mediclinic Parkview Hospital is about 15 minutes away. Circle Mall has more than 80 shops and 40 places to eat, and Dubai Miracle Garden is about 11 minutes by car.
Things to check before you rent or buy
- Building work nearby, as new towers are still going up
- There is no Metro, so you will most likely need a car
- Queues at the exits at peak times
- Build quality varies by developer, so view the building as well as the flat
