Living in Downtown Dubai
Home of the Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain. Luxury apartments in the centre of the city, with Metro access and some of Dubai’s best-known addresses.

History
Emaar built Downtown Dubai as a 500-acre district around the world’s tallest tower. It was first marketed as Downtown Burj Dubai and cost around AED 73 billion.
The Dubai Mall opened in November 2008, and the tower opened as Burj Khalifa in January 2010, when the district took its current name. Dubai Opera followed in 2016. Today Downtown is home to towers such as The Residences, South Ridge, Burj Vista, Boulevard Point, 29 Boulevard, Il Primo and Opera Grand.
What it’s like to live here
Downtown feels like the middle of everything. You can walk along the Boulevard to The Dubai Mall, Souk Al Bahar and the fountain, and many flats look out at the Burj Khalifa. It is busy with visitors, especially in the evenings and over New Year.
Who it suits
Professionals, couples and people who want a city-centre address with the biggest landmarks on the doorstep. Investors like the strong demand from both long-term tenants and short stays.
Getting around
Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro station on the Red Line is linked to the mall by a covered walkway, about 10 to 15 minutes on foot. Sheikh Zayed Road and Financial Centre Road run alongside, and there are feeder buses. Dubai International Airport is about 18 minutes by car and Dubai Marina about 20.
Schools, healthcare and shopping
Nurseries include Toddler Town British Nursery, Blossom Nursery and Jumeirah International Nursery, with JSS Private School in nearby Al Safa.
Clinics include Aster Royal Clinic, Mediclinic, Al Borj Medical Center and J’Adore Medical Clinic. For shopping and days out there is The Dubai Mall, Souk Al Bahar, Bay Avenue, the Dubai Aquarium, Dubai Opera and Burj Park.
