History

Emaar launched Arabian Ranches in 2004 on open desert inland from the city, and the first families moved in soon after. The Arabian Ranches Golf Club opened the same year.

Arabian Ranches 2 followed in 2013 with around 1,700 more homes, and Arabian Ranches 3 was unveiled in 2019, with its last phases due by 2027. The original community covers 1,650 acres and has more than 4,000 villas and townhouses across 15 gated sub-communities, such as Saheel, Alvorada, Mirador and Palmera.

What it’s like to live here

Quiet, leafy streets of villas and townhouses in Mediterranean, Arabian and Spanish styles, with pools, parks and play areas. It has a real neighbourhood feel, and many families stay for years.

Getting around

The community sits along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Umm Suqeim Road, and RTA bus J02 serves it. Dubai Internet City Metro station is about 20 minutes’ drive, Mall of the Emirates 18 minutes and Dubai Hills Estate about 15.

Schools, healthcare and shopping

Schools include Jumeirah English Speaking School (JESS) and Ranches Primary School, with Raffles Nursery for younger children.

Mediclinic Arabian Ranches, Aster Royal Clinic and Aster Clinic are in the community, with Mediclinic Parkview Hospital about 15 minutes away. The Ranches Souk and Carrefour Market cover daily shopping, and the golf club and Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club are on the doorstep.

  • You will need a car to get into the city
  • The older villas date from the mid-2000s, so check air conditioning, pools and upgrades
  • Service charges are higher on large villas with pools
