Living in Al Furjan
A family community of villas, townhouses and low-rise apartments between Sheikh Zayed Road and MBZ Road, with its own Metro station.

History
Nakheel launched Al Furjan in 2007 as its largest villa community at the time, with plans for 4,000 homes. Building work stopped during the 2010 downturn and picked up again later in the decade.
Al Furjan Pavilion opened in 2016, Azizi’s first apartment buildings followed in 2017, and Al Furjan Metro station opened on the Route 2020 line in 2021. By 2021 the community had about 1,700 villas and townhouses and 2,800 apartments, home to around 26,000 people.
What it’s like to live here
A settled suburban feel with wide streets, parks and community pavilions, plus newer apartment buildings around the edges. It is popular with families and quieter than nearby JVC.
Who it suits
Families who want a villa or townhouse with Metro access, and renters looking for apartments that are newer and roomier than in the older city areas.
Getting around
Al Furjan Metro station is on the Route 2020 branch of the Red Line, and the community sits between Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Al Maktoum International Airport, Sports City and Jumeirah Golf Estates are each about 20 minutes away.
Schools, healthcare and shopping
Schools include The Arbor School, described as the first sustainable school in the UAE, and Arcadia Global School, with Chubby Cheeks Nursery and Jebel Ali Village Nursery.
Medicentres has a clinic in Al Furjan Pavilion. Al Furjan Pavilion and Al Furjan West Pavilion cover daily needs, with Spinneys and Geant supermarkets, and Ibn Battuta Mall is about 25 minutes away.
