Living in Jumeirah Islands
An exclusive, gated villa community of 46 man-made islands surrounded by lakes, close to JLT and Dubai Marina. Just 851 homes, most with private pools.

History
Nakheel launched Jumeirah Islands in 2003 and finished it in 2006. The villas were built in clusters of 16, each on its own island, surrounded by saltwater lakes.
84 townhouses were added in 2017, and 31 larger villas known as The Mansions sit on their own island. Altogether there are 851 homes: 736 villas, 84 townhouses and 31 mansions.
What it’s like to live here
Very quiet and private, with lakes, palm trees and walking paths. Most villas have their own pool and garden, and many look out over the water. The Jumeirah Islands Pavilion has a supermarket, cafes and a clinic.

Getting around
Jumeirah Islands is reached from Sheikh Zayed Road at interchanges 5 and 6. DMCC Metro station is about 16 minutes away, Dubai Marina Mall 14 minutes and the Burj Al Arab about 21.
Schools, healthcare and shopping
Schools nearby include Dubai British School, Emirates International School, Delhi Public School and Regent International School.
There is a clinic in the Jumeirah Islands Pavilion, and Al Zahra and Saudi German hospitals are within 20 minutes. Dubai Marina Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall and Mall of the Emirates are all close by.
Things to check before you rent or buy
- You will need a car, as public transport is limited
- Most villas date from the mid-2000s, so check air conditioning, pools and upgrades
- Lake views versus road views, as they affect price
- Service charges, if you are buying
