Living in Dubai Silicon Oasis
A government-run technology park and free zone with apartments and villas, known for good-value rents and quick access to Academic City and the Dubai to Al Ain Road.
History
Dubai Silicon Oasis was announced in 2003 and opened in 2004 as a free zone and technology park, run by the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority. The first 560 Semmer Villas were finished in 2006, and Rochester Institute of Technology opened its Dubai campus here in 2008.
Silicon Central Mall opened in 2023, and a major expansion was announced in 2026. The area covers about 7.2 square kilometres, and its two villa communities, Cedre and Semmer, have more than 1,600 homes between them.
